Here's your chance to try a wood you've never seen before. With all of our fantastic woods to choose from, how do you know which ones you'll like? So here you go: pick out some hardwood samples.
Each sample is milled to the standard size of 1/2" x 3" x 6". This is the size that's determined by the International Wood Collectors Society. Each sample gets a label with the common name and the botanical name. Use these to test finishes, or just get a feel of the grain structure, weight, and other basic properties.

The wood arrived in perfect condition without a scratch on it. I am pleased that it was slightly thicker than 3/4" thick. Especially since our cat barfed on it and there was enough extra thickness that I was able to plane it off down to the finished dimension of 3/4" (phew!)
