This is an unbacked veneer in bookmatched form. The burl pattern is very exquisite, but is also very fragile. It is common for unbacked veneers (especialy burls) to be uneven or 'bumpy' in its raw form, so please be prepared of the precautions necessary in your application.

 What's the wood like?
Almost all of this timber is distributed as veneer. The burl is highly decorative and therefore used in high end pieces.  How's the color?
Red to pink, brown to tan. Burl clusters are somewhat darker, sometimes black.  Does it go by other names?
Elm, Dutch Elm  What could I use it for?
Dashboards, panels, furniture, interiors, high end work.  What is the tree like?
Can grow to 120 feet tall, and sometimes as tall as 150 feet with diameters as large as 8 feet.
